About Burchfield Automation Burchfield Automation was started in 1998 by Chris Burchfield in Meridian, MS. Chris had retired from Peavey Electronics where he mananged the automation and test engineering department. Using this background in machine design and precision manufacturing process automation, he started contracting designs for other companies. Burchfield Engineering then started manufacturing laser profiling equipment for the Army Corps of Engineers and other research organizations. The design work on the profilers led to other applications where precision positioning was required. Servo based radar systems were the first pan/tilt devices designed by Burchfield Engineering and led to smaller systems for thermal imagers and day cameras. The rest is history and Burchfield now focuses all of its resources on the design and production of position systems for cameras and radar. We are a small southern company with innovative ideas. If you think all Pan/Tilt systems are about the same, give one of our people a call. They will show you something new! |
